Solarize Greater Philadelphia Announces New Residential Installer Partners, Expansion to Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery Counties

PGCC announces an expanded residential program with new consumer resources and solar readiness grants for households, increased market support for solar installation partners across the region.

Solarize Greater Philadelphia is now available for residential homeowners in the Greater Philadelphia region. The latest cohort of program-approved installers make it easy and affordable for homeowners to go solar with confidence in 2026 and beyond.

The program’s installers were selected through a vigorous review process that evaluated each chosen firm’s pricing, technical capability, customer service record, and financial stability. The pre-vetting process takes the guesswork out of going solar. The five selected installers are:

  • Exact Solar
  • Solar Energy World
  • Solar States
  • Solr Standard
  • Superior Solar Design

Solarize Greater Philadelphia builds on nearly a decade of the Solarize Philly program’s success. Since 2017, the Philadelphia Energy Authority (PEA) program has assisted more than 4,300 homeowners and business owners, adding over 25 megawatts (MW) of distributed solar energy capacity across Philadelphia’s rooftops, with approximately 55% of homes located in low- and moderate-income census tracts.

The expanded Solarize program, under the leadership of PEA’s green bank affiliate, the Philadelphia Green Capital Corp. (PGCC), now serves Philadelphia as well as Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties. Solarize Greater Philadelphia connects households and businesses with vetted installers and strong consumer protections. Paired with impact capital available through PGCC’s commercial loan program, solar developers have more tools at their disposal to bring renewable energy to communities and businesses across Southeastern Pennsylvania.

“Solar delivers real value by reducing long-term energy costs, strengthening community resilience, and supporting Pennsylvania’s clean energy economy,” said Maryrose Myrtetus, PGCC Executive Director. “As energy prices rise across the region, going solar can be a great way to buffer against price increases and to gain predictability for monthly costs.”

Households with income less than 80% of area-median income are eligible for limited funding to implement roof and/or electrical repairs necessary to install solar on their homes. These upgrades are made possible through a grant from the Pennsylvania Housing Affordability and Rehabilitation Enhancement (PHARE) program at the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency, making solar adoption even more accessible and affordable.

These solar readiness grants are available through all participating Solarize installers. Households can visit Solarize Greater Philadelphia to determine eligibility and to learn more about program installers.

“Philadelphia Energy Authority is thrilled to have five market-leading solar installers participate in the tenth year of the Solarize program,” said Alon Abramson, PEA Vice President of Programs. “Their partnership helps us to streamline and simplify the solar installation process, all while building a more robust renewable energy market throughout the region.”

For commercial property owners, PEA has partnered with the Pennsylvania Solar Center to offer low- to no-cost solar technical assistance for businesses and tax-exempt organizations. Commercial customers receive access to project development experts who can help determine a property’s solar feasibility, calculate estimated savings, find qualified solar developers, and explore financing options and incentives available through PGCC and other programs.

In 2025, PGCC expanded operations to include green lending. PGCC’s impact loan capital is anchored by a $10 million loan from the Coalition for Green Capital through the Environmental Protection Agency’s National Clean Investment Fund and a contribution from the Green Family Foundation. PGCC now offers predevelopment, bridge, construction, and permanent loans for distributed energy generation, building decarbonization, and EV charging infrastructure.
