Philadelphia Green Capital Corp is the 501(c)(3) nonprofit green bank of Pennsylvania and proud affiliate of the Philadelphia Energy Authority. We connect capital to projects that lower energy costs, improve buildings, and create healthier, more resilient communities, ensuring clean energy investments reach the households and neighborhoods that benefit most.

Across Greater Philadelphia, communities are facing rising energy costs, aging infrastructure, and the growing impacts of climate change. At the same time, billions of dollars in public, private, and philanthropic capital are available, but too often remain fragmented or difficult to deploy where they are needed most.

Philadelphia Green Capital Corp. (PGCC) connects projects to public, private, and philanthropic capital to drive an equitable clean energy market in Philadelphia, support the work of the Philadelphia Energy Authority (PEA) in the Greater Philadelphia Region, and respond to the local challenges of climate change.

How We Do It

PGCC connects capital to real projects that lower energy costs, improve buildings, and create healthier, more resilient communities. By aligning funding with on-the-ground needs, PGCC ensures that clean energy investments reach the households and neighborhoods that benefit most, today and into the future. As the nonprofit green bank affiliate of the Philadelphia Energy Authority, PGCC is built to grow what works. It makes it possible to scale proven programs and move shovel-ready projects forward quickly, sustainably, and equitably, turning opportunity into action without delay.

National Connection, Local Focus

A green bank is a financial institution that leverages investment from public, private, and/or philanthropic sources for clean energy, energy efficiency, and climate-resilient projects.

PGCC is part of a national network of green banks. Through partnerships with the Coalition for Green Capital (CGC) and Green Bank 50 (GB50), PGCC connects the Greater Philadelphia region to best practices and emerging opportunities in clean energy finance.
